Overview

Overview of Mobile Physical Inventory.

The Reactor Physical Inventory module enables you to perform physical inventory efficiently and easily on mobile devices. This includes working with physical inventory journals and physical inventory orders. With the scanning functions, users can select locations and items, enter quantities, and make real-time adjustments directly in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which significantly simplifies the inventory process.

Setting up the module

To use the module, you need our Reactor Client and the BE-terna Reactor Platform Core app (AppSource). Please refer to the help page in the BE-terna Reactor Platform Core app AppSource listing to obtain and install the client, or contact us if you need assistance.

To use the module, add it from AppSource to your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. You can then optionally adapt the app to your needs. Search for “BE-Mobile Fusion Setup” in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and use the settings in the “Physical Inventory” FastTab.

Physical inventory journals

Overview

The Physical Inventory Journals function enables users to create and manage postings for physical inventory. This includes scanning bins and items, counting quantities, and editing journal lines directly to update the inventory status.

Please note that item tracking is not supported for physical inventory journals. Other limitations are the mandatory use of bins and the requirement to work with a unique location.

Creating and managing postings

Selecting a physical inventory journal

Select the Physical Inventory Journals tile in the main menu. Then select the journal you want to work on. After selecting a journal, you can start scanning bins and items to update it.

Scanning bins and items

Scan a bin: Start by scanning the bin barcode where the inventory items are located. You can also enter the barcode manually in the scan bar and press Enter. The app displays the relevant bin information from the journal. Set the quantity entry mode and quantity: Select the quantity entry mode (increase or replace) and the quantity you want to add (increase mode) or replace (replace mode). Scan an item: Scan the item barcode to update the journal line for a specific item. The item quantity is adjusted accordingly. If the user should perform an additional check of the scanned item and its quantities, enable the “Show entry line after scan” setting in BE-Mobile Fusion Setup.

Deleting items

Delete scanned items by selecting the trash icon on the right side of the item list.

Physical inventory orders

Overview

The Physical Inventory Orders function enables users to create and manage recording lines for physical inventory orders. This includes scanning bins and items, counting quantities, and editing the recording lines directly to update physical inventory recordings.

Creating and managing recording lines

Selecting a physical inventory recording

Select the Physical Inventory Orders tile in the main menu. Then select the physical inventory recording you want to work on. After selecting a recording, you can start scanning bins and items to update it.

Scanning bins and items

Scan a bin: Start by scanning the bin barcode where the inventory items are located. You can also enter the barcode manually in the scan bar and press Enter. The app displays the relevant bin information from the recording. Set the quantity entry mode and quantity: Select the quantity entry mode (increase or replace) and the quantity you want to add (increase mode) or replace (replace mode). Scan an item: Scan the item barcode to update the physical inventory recording for a specific item. The item quantity is adjusted accordingly. If the user should perform an additional check of the scanned item and its quantities, enable the “Show entry line after scan” setting in BE-Mobile Fusion Setup.

Scanning items with serial or lot numbers

If a serial or lot number is required for an item, an additional dialog appears after scanning the item. To add the required quantity to the recording, you must enter the corresponding serial or lot number.

To simplify scanning for this type of item, the serial or lot number can also be included directly in the barcode, which removes the need to enter a number in the additional dialog. To do this, define a regular expression in “BE-Mobile Fusion Setup”.

In this example, barcodes are recognized that contain the item numbers (group 1) and optionally a serial or lot number (groups 2 and 3), for example 1000#SN0001.

Deleting items

Delete scanned items by selecting the trash icon on the right side of the item list.
