Overview
Purpose
This page is the business entry point to the BE-Commerce module. It is written for users who are new to the module and want to understand what it is used for, which master data must be prepared, and which daily tasks follow from that setup.
Who should read this page
- E-commerce coordinators who support webshop-related business processes.
- Customer service or sales users who review imported documents and contacts.
- Key users who are responsible for setup, data quality, and stable daily operations.
What you do with BE-Commerce
BE-Commerce connects Business Central with a webshop. The module helps you to
- set up webshop channels and their master data,
- prepare items, contacts, and prices for the webshop,
- review and process imported sales orders, returns, and reservations,
- exchange changes in inventory, master data, and documents with the shop in a controlled way.
How to start without prior knowledge
- Start with Setup to understand the overall module logic.
- Continue with Master Data to learn the most important cards, mappings, and mandatory data.
- Then move on to daily tasks such as Item Releasing, Sales Order Creation, or Reservation.
- Use Reference Processes and Interfaces once the business flow is clear and you need deeper context.
Content Focus
Setup and Operational Readiness
This area defines how webshop channels work, which countries, languages, and posting rules apply, and which validation rules are needed for stable operations.
Master Data and Maintenance Foundations
Here you maintain the prerequisites for a reliable data exchange. This includes webshop channels, assisted setup, categories, attributes, and other channel-specific mappings.
Operational Usage in Daily Work
The operational pages describe recurring tasks such as item release, contact maintenance, sales order creation, return processing, and reservations. These pages are relevant for users who work with imported or releasable data every day.
Processes and Interfaces
Reference processes help you understand how setup, import, processing, and export fit together. The technical interfaces are background documentation for clarifying business questions or error situations.
Result
- You understand what BE-Commerce is used for in the webshop context.
- You know the recommended entry sequence for setup, master data, and daily work.
- You can distinguish between beginner pages and deeper technical background.
