Reports and label output

End-user overview of HUM packing lists and VDA4902 and VDA4994 label output.

Purpose

This page describes the reports and layouts that Handling Unit Management provides for packing lists and loading units. It also explains which data the user maintains and which values are supplied automatically by the system or a connector.

Available outputs

Report Purpose Layouts
Packing List Packing list for posted packaging assignments Packing List, Packing List - Var 1
VDA4902 D Goods label with VDA4902 representation VDA4902D A5, VDA4902D KLT
VDA4994 GTL VW Goods label for VDA4994 GTL VW VDA4994 GTL VW A5, VDA4994 GTL VW KLT

The reports are available in Business Central through search or Reports and Analysis. Each report has a default layout; select another available layout only when it fits the packaging material and target process.

Maintain data before output

  • Maintain item weight and relevant item master data.
  • Maintain package type, packaging material, and tare weight.
  • Release packaging-structure definitions and set the structure level role where required.
  • Complete and register the packaging assignment on the document.
  • Resolve lots and serial numbers before posting when the output requires tracking data.

Output after posting

  1. Post the document with its registered packaging assignment.
  2. Open the posted document or the related transport context.
  3. Start the required HUM report through Reports and Analysis.
  4. Filter to the relevant packaging assignment, posted document, or transport.
  5. Select the suitable A5 or KLT layout where required.
  6. Review the preview, package hierarchy, items, lot/serial numbers, and weights.
  7. Print or export the output.

Automatic processing

  • Weight is calculated from item and packaging master data and the packaging hierarchy.
  • The structure level role is read from the packaging-structure definition line; a blank value can inherit the package type default.
  • VDA-specific terms such as Master, Single, or M/G are created in the output or connector layer and are not general roles of the HUM packaging assignment.
  • The HUM-CSC connector supplies package data for CSC reports such as CMR and Shipping Note VDA4922 through the Loading Unit Print Buffer.
  • The CSC-EDI connector projects HUM packaging structures for EDI output such as DESADV; it does not own separate HUM report layouts.

Selecting a layout

  • A5 is intended for output on an A5 label or corresponding form.
  • KLT is intended for KLT-related goods-label output.
  • Layout selection changes presentation, not the underlying packaging structure.
  • If item, tracking, or weight values are missing, check master data and the posted packaging assignment first.

Error patterns

Situation Check
Packing list contains no lines Is the packaging assignment registered and the document posted?
Goods label contains no lot Was tracking assigned before registration/posting?
Master/Single representation is wrong Review structure level role, packaging-structure definition, and package tree
Weight is empty or incorrect Review item weight, tare weight, and package hierarchy
CSC report contains no loading units Are HUM packages posted and the connector installed?
