Record and Analyze Time

Use the time recording worksheet, calendar, and history.

Prerequisites

A user can edit only the employee numbers assigned to them through Time Recording User Assignments. In Time Recording Users, administrators can also configure the calendar view and the administrator setting.

Record time in the worksheet

Open Time Recording BDE, and then select the employee number. Enter the following information for each line:

  • Registration date
  • Start and end time
  • Break start and end time
  • Work type and description
  • Project, project document, and document line
  • Milestone and task number, if applicable
  • Dimensions

The net time is calculated from the duration and break. The worksheet shows only time and absence entries that have not yet been posted.

The Time Recording List page shows the same open entries across employees and can be filtered by calendar week and employee number.

Use the calendar

Depending on the user view, the Time Recording Calendar shows resources and appointments. It can display time entries, absences, project planning, and maintenance appointments.

  • Select a free date to open time recording for the selected resource and day.
  • Select an appointment to open the related time, absence, planning, or maintenance record.
  • Project planning and maintenance appointments can be moved or resized in the calendar.
  • Custom filters can be applied and removed.

The calendar time format is controlled by Calendar Time Format in BE-terna Project Setup.

Review posted time

The Time Recording History contains only posted entries and is read-only. In addition to the recorded data, it shows:

  • Posting time and posting user
  • Cancellation indicator
  • Cancellation reference
  • Cancellation time and cancelling user
  • Total time per day

This information provides an audit trail for recording, posting, and, if applicable, cancelling a time entry.
