This process explains the storage and description of model properties in the product development process. It is also used to assign materials, accessories, and descriptive texts. In addition to the color position and the material used on it, further information can be captured in textual form. Accessories are used, among other things, to declare tags, labels, flags, buttons, and zippers. Further accessory types can be defined in the master data through a flexible classification.
Together with other PDM-relevant information (for example measurement charts, photos, sketches, and artworks), all model properties are used in the subsequent process to generate a production template (TechPack) for the supplier and producer.
SDM-0010 Select models
The model is selected from the “Models” view. The capture of properties is possible from the overview and via the model card.
SDM-0020 Define properties
The property group is specified. These form the structure of the model description and relate to the main components such as style description, labelling, care instructions, or sample instructions. The type (material, accessory, text, number, technical feature) is then defined. This refers to the corresponding master table with the property values. The property (for example care label, pattern text, care instruction, outer fabric, lining, …) is predefined. A further subdivision of the properties into classes (for example subdivision of accessories into labels, buttons, and zippers) is carried out. The so-called color position is used to define a reference point. The color positions are defined separately on the model and can vary by model, referring, among other things, to sleeves, collar, hood, applications, lining, or outer fabric.
SDM-0030 Assign property
Based on the previously made classifications of the model property, a correspondingly filtered data record can be taken over from the material, accessory, or text master as a value. Texts can, for example, be predefined as so-called property texts for sample descriptions or instructions. Depending on the expression of the description in the master data, further model property lines with the description text for the material, accessory, or text are appended. If it is a loose description without reference to master data already captured, a free text can also be entered in the description.
SDM-0040 Edit properties
The transferred texts are edited or expanded.
