REM - Item Monitoring

Reference process for in-season controlling and merchandise management decisions based on inventory and sell-through indicators.

Meta Process

REM - Item Monitoring

Item monitoring, or in-season controlling, supports decisions in the system for merchandise management within store and sales-area operations. Using filter entries, items can be viewed at different levels with regard to their inventory and sell-through indicators. Based on this information, decisions are made regarding the redistribution or revaluation or markdown of stock. The resulting development of the goods can in turn be tracked with item monitoring.

REM-0010 - Select criteria

For item monitoring, the relevant filter criteria are entered and the viewing levels are defined, meaning item or item colour.

REM-0020 - Create item proposals

Using the function “Calculate”, the relevant items are displayed with their indicators and their history. Depending on the perspective, item tracking or ArtBeo, the complete item history is displayed by calendar week in item tracking, while in ArtBeo a summary line is displayed showing the sell-through movement of the last four calendar weeks. The basic information is the same in both views. Item tracking allows an even more precise analysis of inventory turn and sell-through ratio on a weekly basis.

REM-0030 - Edit item proposals

The result can be edited manually. Based on the indicators, decisions are made regarding the redistribution or markdown of the goods. Wherever possible, an attempt is first made to concentrate the goods in better-selling stores by means of redistribution instructions. If this is not successful or if the life cycle of the item has progressed accordingly, the item can be proposed for markdown by specifying a new sales price. A markdown is recorded via item observation.

REM-0040 - Transfer item proposal

Once the item proposal has been edited, it is transferred to the price management process using the function Create Price Management and can be further processed there. In addition, redistribution can be triggered separately.

Outgoing processes:

REM-0050 - Monitor merchandise management

Afterwards, the items are queried again in order to monitor the success of the measures.
