Value-Added Services

Set up customer, item, and order-related value-added services (VAS) and use them on the customer, order entry, goods issue, and posted goods issue.

Benefits

The value-added services give the company the opportunity to maintain customer-, item-, and order-related additional services. These additional services are usually provided in logistics and must therefore be transferred from the master data of customers and items via the documents to the goods issue/picking.

The value-added services can be stored individually for customers and items. This means that, depending on the agreement, different value-added services can be offered to different customers. It may also be that special items require special handling in the warehouse (e.g. sustainable packaging, special treatment).

Certain value-added services can be combined into value-added service groups for certain customer groups (e.g. for Galeria, Röther, Breuninger, or similar). This means that the value-added services do not have to be defined individually for each customer. Packages (e.g. Basic, Extended, Premium) can also be put together.

Technically, this is a generic construct that can be extended as needed in the project. The master data is stored by simply adding an action on the master data record. The transfer of the specifications into the documents can be easily adapted.

Setup

Storage of all value-added services in a continuous table:

  • Value-added services can refer to a document in general as well as individually to lines
  • Accordingly, they are pulled to the header or the lines of the document when the document inherits them
  • By specifying a sequence, an order can be prepared for the display

Option to define value-added service groups:

  • Several value-added services can be bundled and assigned to customers similar to a template
  • Stored on the customer card (Fashion, Value-Added Service Group Code)

Note: BE-Fashion does not plan or manage VAS times or capacities. VAS activities have no effect on the goods issue date. The activities performed are not shown separately on the order or invoice (no posting of resource lines or similar).

Processes

Master Data Storage on the Customer

Option to freely store value-added services on customers via the “Value-Added Services” action. Opens a page to store the individual additional activities. For the customer, these can be both document-related and line-related value-added services.

Order Entry

When orders are entered, the value-added services are automatically taken over from the customer and item master data. In addition, further individual value-added services can be assigned to the order (header level).

The VAS codes stored on the customer are then transferred to each order line and can be changed there again. They are also displayed in a factbox per order line.

Note: The stored records show which data is pulled from the master data and which records have been added manually.

Goods Issue

When goods issues are created, the value-added services stored on the order are transferred to the goods issue. Display of the value-added services on the goods issue document and on the scan page for control scanning. During control scanning, the corresponding value-added services are displayed according to the scanned value (goods issue no./parcel no. or item).

Recommendation for extension: for picking that is not systemically supported, print the value-added services on the pick document.
