Purpose

BE-terna Manufacturing provides a dedicated role center for workers. It reduces the workspace to the entries required for master data, authentication, and time registration, so it is well suited for terminals on the shop floor or directly at the machine.

In addition to the Business Central sign-in on the terminal, each worker can sign in separately inside time registration. This allows several workers to use the same device without changing the Windows or Business Central user each time.

Setup

Purpose

Before workers can register time, worker master records, authentication, and filters must be set up. The setup defines who can sign in, how sign-in works, and which operations are shown in time registration.

Create a Worker

In the BE-Manufacturing Worker role center, open Workers.
Select Worker.
Select +New.

In No., enter a unique identifier for the worker.

No number series is currently provided for workers. In practice, employee numbers, chip IDs, or other unique identifiers are often used.

Registration

Purpose

On the Time Registration page, workers sign in, view their worker task list, and record starting and ending times for released operations. The data is stored as time registration entries and then transferred into the output journal.

In the worker role center, open Time Registration.
In the sign-in dialog, choose the required sign-in method:
- PIN or
- Number and Password.
Depending on the selected method, enter the PIN or worker number and password.
Confirm with OK.

History

Purpose

After registration and transfer, the data must be reviewed, posted, and traceable afterwards. Archived entries, the output journal, capacity ledger entries, and item ledger entries support this follow-up.

Review the Output Journal

Worker registrations are transferred into the Output Journal. There, they can be reviewed and posted.

Purpose

Administration of worker time registration covers ongoing maintenance of worker master data, authentication, filters, and correction processes. It is separate from general Manufacturing administration because it directly controls the terminal workflow and the later reporting into the output journal.

Ongoing Control Areas

Area	Administrative check
Role	Verify that terminals or users work with the BE-Manufacturing Worker role center.
Worker master data	Keep unique No., name, department, cost center, and relevant master data up to date.
Authentication	Align Worker Authentication Type in Manufacturing Setup with password or PIN maintenance on the worker.
PIN	Ensure PIN uniqueness, especially in barcode or RFID scenarios.
Filters	Review filters for Work Center Group, Work Center, and Department regularly.
Dimensions	Review default dimensions and transfer into the journal when cost centers or analysis are affected.
Posting review	Check transferred time registrations in the output journal before final posting.
