Purpose
This page bundles the Handling Unit Management release notes. HUM-CSC integration changes are identified within the related HUM version. The history was reconstructed from the HUM app repository’s release branches and main-branch pull requests.

26.0.0.0 to 26.2.0.0: Core model and multi-level packaging
The focus was the HUM foundation: packaging materials, contents, and multi-level packaging structures were introduced and extended as reusable foundations for documents and warehouse processes.
- Process: Define packaging structures as templates, then assign them to a document line in purchasing, sales, or warehouse processes.
- Master data: Maintain packaging materials as items, quantities per structure level, packaging structure types, and the assignment to the relevant item or process.
- Check: Before operational use, confirm that the structure, quantities, and release status match the physical packaging.
27.0.0.0: Business Central 27
This version is primarily a platform and compatibility release. Before upgrading, review app dependencies, the test environment, packaging master data, and open documents.
27.1.0.0: Variants and packaging-material conflicts
Packaging materials can be used in a more variant-specific way and copied between items. Conflict checks prevent contradictory setup for an item, variant, or packaging-material assignment.
- Process: When creating or changing a packaging assignment, the item variant is included in selection and validation.
- Master data: Review packaging materials by item and variant, including existing copies and conflict messages, before releasing a structure.
- Fix benefit: Manual entries and variant synchronization no longer silently create inconsistent packaging-material assignments.
27.2.0.0: Document lines, tracking, and packaging wizard
This version substantially expands operational use. Packaging can be determined per document line, variant, and location. Package numbers and lot/serial numbers are carried through the relevant warehouse and picking processes. The manual packaging wizard guides selection and validation step by step.
- Process: Open packaging assignment on the affected document line, choose the standard or an alternative, add tracking data, and register the structure.
- Master data: Maintain item variants, location code, package-number logic, packaging-material weight, and the packaging structures required for automatic selection.
- Fix benefit: Delete handling, context propagation, and combined lot/serial assignment validate and preserve dependent data more consistently.
- Extensibility: Public events and a test facade allow connectors and extensions to add controlled packaging logic.
27.3.0.0: Packing list and wizard tracking
The packing list makes the posted packaging assignment available for shipping and verification. The wizard provides more detailed traceability for reserved and commissioned serial numbers.
- Process: Before printing, review the registered packaging structure and its packaging materials; use tracking drilldowns when quantities differ.
- Master data: Check the packing-list layout, translations, item and tracking data, and the packaging-material assignment to the document.
28.0.0.0: Document output, roles, and weights
This version adds central document output and a neutral structure-level role. VDA4902-D and VDA4994 GTL VW output can use different layouts; the packing list supports standard and variant layouts.
- Process: Register the packaging assignment first, verify weight and structure-level role, and only then create labels, packing lists, or transport output.
- Master data: Maintain the structure-level role, packaging-material type, layout assignment, and weights at item or packaging-structure level.
- Fix benefit: Weights are calculated more consistently from the top packaging level and its contents; unregistering cleans up dependent put-away and movement lines.
Version 28.0.0.0 is the current version of the local HUM main branch. For earlier versions, the app repository’s release branches are the technical reference; detailed texts are being expanded from their related pull requests.
