LSC setup and master data
Purpose
This page describes setup and master data for Logistics Supply Chain (LSC) in Automotive. The goal is a stable process start for goods receipt, warehouse, production, goods issue, and inventory.
How this fits into standard BC
In LSC, Automotive extends standard BC with package-oriented process control. Keep this separation clear:
- Standard BC controls document flow, locations, bins, production, and inventory documents.
- LSC controls package status, package activities, QA targets, and package-level selection rules.

Setup steps
1. Activation and number series
- Enable LSC in Logistics Supply Chain Setup.
- Maintain number series for packages and package activities.
- If needed, use setup actions for demo and initialization data.
2. Maintain setup tabs consistently

3. Location and bin logic
For controlled warehouse operation, maintain at least:
- Controlled put-away and picking according to process design.
- Bin setup for receipt, shipment, and balancing.
- Additional production staging and output bins where required.
- LSC-specific fields for QA, blocked stock, and global loading-unit targets.
4. Item and packaging-structure master data
- Flag items as packaging-relevant where required.
- Maintain QA and lot/expiration logic consistently.
- Assign process-specific packaging structures for receipt, production, and shipping.
- Allow alternative structures only in approved business scenarios.
Go-live checkpoints
- All relevant locations have consistent LSC and bin values.
- Number series run cleanly in test postings.
- Packaging structures exist for all relevant items and process types.
- End-to-end test from receipt to shipping without open package activities.
